I love Pink, and I love this song. I’m glad she re-released it. I admit I was a little shocked when a couple of months ago one of the local radio DJs said this song was new stuff from Pink. I was like, “New? That song came out forever ago.” But then I saw the song on the VH1 countdown and realized what had been done. It’s a good move on her camp’s part. ”U and Ur Hand” was successful and gave Pink the momentum she needed to make this song more popular. 

Pink has said this song was about a friend of hers that committed suicide. It’s terrible when tragic events like that occur. My best friend attempted suicide a few years ago. I found her trying to down the pills. She was already pretty fucked up. I called 911. She survived, but it still hurt to have her tell me I should have let her do it. She eventually gave me a mumbled thanks later on.

I’m not hating on her. I can’t feel her pain, so I’m in no place to criticize. Suicide is just hard for all involved.
